Their unique collaborations called for an encore reunion!

The performance at “Bernstein Remix”—featuring Leonard Bernstein’s Piano Trio reimagined with DJ Spooky—was a powerful reminder that classical music is alive and thriving, always the newest music of its time. A new album is currently in the works for 2026. The Ahn Trio previously recorded Bernstein’s Piano Trio, written when he was only 18 years old and studying at Harvard, for their Ahn-plugged album released by EMI Classics.

New commissions concerts

A notable recent commission, by Maria Ahn Music and 3AD, originally conceived to accompany choreography, is PRISMS – Six Songs by Sting, a suite of Sting’s songs reimagined by Dušan Bogdanović for piano trio and guitar, and dedicated to the Ahn Trio’s late mother, Young Joo Rhee. Another significant work commissioned in their writer mother’s name is Lamento et Rock Bulgare by Atanas Ourkouzounov.
